Activision is continuing its third-party shopping spree with the acquisition of Santa Monica-based Luxoflux.
Makers of the Vigilante 8 series, as well as Star Wars: Demolition for LucasArts, Luxoflux has established a reputation for console games and have built up a strong publishing relationship with Activision over the years. In addition to a Shrek game sequel in the works with TDK Mediactive, Luxoflux is currently working on the third-person crime action game True Crime: Streets of L.A. Luxoflux management and other key members of its 30-person staff have been given long-term contracts to ensure as smooth a transition as possible, however financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
