German middleware provider Xaitment GmbH has released xaitMap 2.5, an update to its navigation mesh-oriented artificial intelligence software. Included in the update are new features such as geometry tagging, batched builds, a project wizard, pathfinding objects, and a completely redesigned user interface. The software supports Windows, Linux, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii, and can be integrated into studios' own internal toolsets. Xaitment offers several licensing tiers. Said Xaitment CEO Dr. Andreas Gerber in a company statement, “xaitMap 2.5 offers all game developers a powerful AI game tool that helps save production costs while giving development teams the opportunity to effectively reach their creative potential. "Stand-alone or together in combination with other xaitment AI game tools, it offers everything developers need for the successful development of artificial intelligence in a game production," Gerber said.
