Animation Science, a developer of rules-based 3D effects and behavior technology, and Sony Computer Entertainment announced their partnership to bring behavior synthesis to the next generation Playstation. Animation Science has joined an elite group of vendors to provide optimized middleware technology to Sony and its authorized developers. Animation Science believes that behavior synthesis will be a key distinction in the next generation Playstation titles, and their role will be to help bring emotion, realistic effects, and behavior to 3D game technology. Animation Science's Rampage and Outburst technologies will be optimized for next generation Playstation to deliver intelligent and dynamic crowd scenes and realistic particle effects. Using rules-based Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Rampage and Outburst behavior engines automatically calculate the complicated physics associated with realistic-looking 3D.
