Organizers of the Asian Game Developers Summit (AGDS) have announced the first details of the 2006 event, to be held on December 9th and 10th at The Orchard Hotel, Singapore. Jointly organized by the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines, the summit's program aims to promote game development within the region and to provide education, networking and business opportunities for programmers, artist, producers, game designers, audio professionals and other development professionals. Over the two day event a range of lectures, forums and round table discussions will be organized on development topics such as game design, game technology, game arts and animation, business, production and mobile gaming. These activities will be organized into three separate tracks spanning game development, the business of game development and serious games. Over thirty speakers are expected for the summit, with confirmed participants including Ian Livingstone (director of product acquisition, Eidos), Feargus Urquhart (CEO, Obsidian), Noah Falstein (CEO, The Inspiracy), Raymond Wong (MD, Koei Entertainment Singapore), Ragnar Tornkvist (lead designer, FunCom) and Tracy Fullerton (professor, USC). "We are happy to have the recognition and support of MDA Singapore (Media Development Authority, Singapore) and sponsorship by key game players the likes of EA, the world's leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment and Hewlett-Packard, the industry leader with more than 20 years of experience designing and certifying high performance workstations for game developers", said Allan Simonsen, coordinator of IGDA Singapore. Further information can be found at the event’s official website. Tickets are already available for SG$200 (US$128), not including a range of early bird, bulk, student and IGDA member rates.
