ATI Technologies has released version 1.0 of Rendermonkey, a utility designed to aid the development of real-time shaders. Developed in conjunction with 3dlabs, Rendermonkey 1.0 supports the DirectX 9.0 HLSL shading language, and will in the future support the OpenGL shading language. The utility has a realtime preview window that shows the current state of the shader, and any changes you make to the code in a separate window can be seen immediately. With the official release of the utility, ATI has added the Rendermonkey API—a feature that was not present in the beta releases.
