Noted 3D tool provider Autodesk has announced new time limited software bundles as part of its Government Federal promotion. In particular, the company has released new information concerning its 'Autodesk Serious Games Solution' bundle, which is aimed at the development of training and simulation-based serious games. Until September 30, the company is offering Blue Rock Technology's Flight Studio plug in for free with each purchase of 3D graphics creation tool 3D Studio Max 8. Flight Studio is a suite tools used for importing, editing and exporting OpenFlight scene graphs and databases from within Autodesk's 3ds Max while retaining scene graph structure and attributes. The bundle, according to Autodesk, will allow for the creation of “rich and complex design visualization” as a means to make training simulations more realistic. According to developer Blue Rock's own description of the Flight Studio tool suite, the software has the added benefit of allowing developers to import OpenFlight data without costly rework, and offers visual simulation modelers new scene graph editing capabilities not available previously. Though Autodesk's promotion concerns only the latest version of 3D Studio Max, Flight Studio is compatible with versions 6, 7 and 8. For more information regarding this promotion, specifically pricing and contact information, interested parties can visit the official website.
