Avid Technology, Inc. has announced the release of Avid Alienbrain Studio 7.1. The asset management software offers additional support for creators of 3D simulation, animation and CG work. With expanded help and search capabilities, improvements for remote teamwork and faster previews, the new version promises to streamline CG creation as part of the Avid Computer Graphics production pipeline. Avid managing director Gregor vom Scheidt suggested: "Many studios continue to look for best-of-breed tools that offer a simple, visual way to streamline workflow and collaboration for development teams. With Alienbrain Studio 7.1, we’ve addressed this need with enhancements that make it easier for artists, programmers and technical directors to work from multiple locations while efficiently managing all of the media-rich assets they create." Alienbrain securely stores all assets in a single location, even when creators work remotely, thus streamlining workflow and maintaining historical versions of files. Alienbrain Studio 7.1 also offers plugins for all of the major 3D and 2D programming pipeline tools.
