Charity speedrunning event Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) has raised $1.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation in just seven days.

This is the third year in a row that the AGDQ team has raised over $1 million, although this year's total didn't quite beat last year's record $1.5 million haul.

AGDQ was streamed live on Twitch from January 3 - 10, with over 220,000 viewers tuning in at one point to watch the team burn through Super Mario Maker.

Other games featured included Kirby: Squeak Squad, Diddy Kong Racing, Left 4 Dead 2, Super Time Force Ultra, Hotline Miami, Spelunky, Diablo, Crash Bandicoot, and Jak 3 to name but a few.

Event organizers have confirmed that the team will be back later this year for Summer Games Done Quick, which will run from June 3-9 in Minneapolis.
