[Every week, Gamasutra sums up sister iPhone site FingerGaming's top news and reviews for Apple's nascent -- and increasingly exciting -- portable games platform, as written by editor in chief Danny Cowan and authors Tucker Dean, Jason Johnson, Ryan Hibbeler, and Mike Rose.] This week, FingerGaming covers Gameloft's Zombie Infection and EA's Skate franchise spinoff Skate It. Also within are the lists for top-grossing, most-downloaded free and paid Apps from Apple's store, as well as reviews for Ninjatown: Trees of Doom, Super 7 and Sword & Poker 2. Here are the top stories from the last seven days: - Top-Grossing Game Apps: Angry Birds Overtakes Iron Man 2 "EA's Tetris climbs up to third after placing tenth last week, while PopCap's Bejeweled 2 rises to fourth place and Square Enix's Chaos Rings slips to fifth." - Skate It Rolls Into the App Store "Skate It uses accelerometer and flick controls to trigger a variety of grabs, flips, and grinds. As with many skateboarding titles, players earn points for stringing together combinations of air and land stunts." - Review: Sword & Poker 2 "By using poker hands instead of simple color matching, the puzzle game in Sword & Poker 2 is more compelling than your standard match-3 affair. With the addition of special abilities and re-configurable damage tables, it does a great job of rewarding strategic play." - Konami Announces Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night for iPhone "Konami announced today that its Castlevania franchise will make its iPhone debut with Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, a competitive puzzle-RPG in the vein of titles like Super Puzzle Fighter II and Puzzle Quest." - Review: Ninjatown: Trees of Doom! "Ninjatown: Trees of Doom plays out in a similar fashion to the likes of Doodle Jump and Canabalt. It's wonderful fun, with plenty of variation in content that'll keep you coming back for more." - Top iPad Game Apps: Dizzypad HD Leads Free Charts "Pinball HD, Real Racing HD, and Scrabble continue to lead iPad game sales in the App Store. Angry Birds HD moves up a spot to overtake Flight Control HD, as Iron Man 2 drops out of the top ten." - Gameloft Releases Resident Evil Clone Zombie Infection "One innovation that Zombie Infection promotes is the inclusion of undead animals. In fact, one level takes place in a zoo filled entirely with zombie wildlife." - Review: Super 7 "If Super 7 doesn't create too busy of an experience for you, and if you can get into 'the flow,' I imagine it would be a hit -- one you could play against your friends and really get into." - Top iPhone Game Apps: Edge Returns to the Charts "Mobigame's Edge ranks as the App Store's third-best seller in the Games category after its recent reinstatement. Clickgamer's Angry Birds once again claims the top spot, as newcomer skateboarding sim Stick Skater takes second place." - Gamevil First Quarter Profits Increase by 99 Percent "Korean mobile games publisher Gamevil announced that it has amassed 3.37 billion KRW ($2.97 million USD) in net income during the first quarter of 2010, owing much of its overseas success to the popularity of its titles for the iPhone and iPod Touch."
