Bionatics, developer of plant simulation and modeling solutions for the CG industry, has launched a new version of natFX for 3ds Max: natFX 3. natFX 3 has been fully enhanced with advanced wind animation, tree pruning, new customization & deformation features, a new built-in renderer, handling of normal maps for realistic relief texturing, optimization for 3ds Max v7.x, and a new user-friendly interface. Hybrid modeling is a compromise between 2D and 3D. It allows users to generate realistic billboard trees, mixing 2D and 3D, while taking into account the performance of the computer and the needs for different levels of detail of the tree according to its visualization and use. With the release of natFX 3, Bionatics completes its new technology of hybridization with customization and animation features that allows a more realistic tree modeling solution. natFX for 3ds Max is for two types of distinct users: artists and companies in 3D animation, CG art, architectural visualizations, who need plant modeling tools, and video games and real-time production studios seeking a tool to quickly produce content for high resolution games.
