BreakAway Ltd, a developer of military-oriented 'serious games' and training tools, has announced that it has formed BreakAway Federal Systems, Inc., for projects dealing with official military business. The first project under the BFS aegis will be MOSBY, a simulation toolkit aimed at non-programmers. MOSBY, which will be unveiled at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference in Orlando, Florida from November 28 to December 1, will allow easier creation of training scenarios by the instructors in charge of the programs. The toolkit supports single-player as well as multi-player modes in a 3D setting designed to work both in and out of a classroom setup. "MOSBY is designed to bring efficient, military-style planning and analysis technologies to everyone from warfighters to senior decision-makers,” said BreakAway CEO Doug Whatley. "In MOSBY’s virtual world, all elements of the simulation are integrated with weather effects and time-of-day to create training, planning, and analysis solutions involving land, sea, and air vehicles." Apart from MOSBY, BreakAway Federal Systems will use I/ITSEC to show Incident Commander, a public safety personnel trainer, 24 Blue, a flight deck operations simulator, and A Force More Powerful, which trains users in non-violent resistance methods.
