Buena Vista Games (BVG), the interactive entertainment arm of The Walt Disney Company, has announced that it will publish four new titles in development by Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment, the creator of noted PSP puzzle title Lumines. Titles to be published include Lumines II and Every Extend Extra for the PSP, Lumines Plus for the PlayStation 2, and Meteos: Disney Edition, a new take on the action puzzle game featuring Disney characters for the Nintendo DS. The titles will be published by BVG in all international regions except Asia, where the games' publisher is not yet officially confirmed. "We are looking forward to enhancing our relationship with the talented team at Q Entertainment to bring gamers unique and innovative gaming experiences," said Graham Hopper, senior vice president and general manager, Buena Vista Games. "With BVG's expertise in publishing a broad portfolio of video games for the entire family, these new titles are a perfect fit because they appeal to a wide variety of gamers." Q? itself was founded by in 2003 by ex-Sega designer Mizuguchi, who is famous for creating games such as Space Channel 5 and Rez. To date, Lumines has sold more than 700,000 units worldwide, and both it and Meteos are well-rated by critics as some of the top puzzle titles for the PSP and Nintendo DS. Lumines II, Lumines Plus, Every Extend Extra and Meteos: Disney Edition are slated to hit retail stores in fall 2006. In a separate deal announced in late 2005, mobile publisher Gameloft revealed that it would be creating cellphone versions of both Lumines and Meteos.
