Capcom followed Nintendo's announcement of its Japanese launch plans for the 3DS by revealing two new titles for the system. Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D will join the company's previously-announced Resident Evil: Revelations as the second title in the franchise to be developed for Nintendo's new handheld. The game will feature a collection of the 'Mercenaries' missions from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, with the aim of "enriching and extending the Mercenaries experience" by way of a clutch of new modes and extra characters. The company said the game will "deliver relentless action with players competing against the clock to defeat as many enemies as possible in a fixed time," and will take advantage of 3DS' WiFi Connectivity. No launch date was given for the game, but its sister release, Resident Evil: Revelations, is expected to be a launch title. Capcom also announced Mega Man Legends 3, a game the company says is still in the early stages of development. By announcing the game at this formative stage, the publisher hopes to give fans "an opportunity to be part of the development process like never before as they interact directly with the team." The company said that further details on how it plans to use fan input in the development process will be revealed at next month's New York Comic-Con.
