Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles developer Cavia captured the top spot on the weekly Japanese software sales charts with the action RPG Nier Replicant, Media Create said this week. The PlayStation 3 game, published by Square Enix, sold 60,174 units for its debut week ended April 25, more than doubling the sales of the second place game, the nearly five-month-old New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Super Mario Bros. Wii came in at number one for the previous two consecutive weeks. Other long-legged Nintendo titles that made the list were Wii Fit Plus, Friend Collection and Mario Kart Wii. Four new games made it into Media Create's top 10 weekly sales chart, including Bethesda Softwork's The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion -- Game of the Year Edition for PS3. Oblivion -- GOTY originally released in the West in 2007. Other new titles that made the top 10 were Atlus' Tokyo Mono Hara Shi: Karasu No Mori Gakuen Kitan and Falcom's Ys: The Oathin Felghana. Games that fell out of the Japanese top 10 from last week were the PS3 versions of Konami's Pro Baseball Spirits 2010, Koei's Fist of the North Star: Warriors, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Marvelous Entertainment's No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise, and Sega's Yakuza 4 for PS3.
