Reykjavik, Iceland-based CCP games is moving its North America office from Gwinnett county, Georgia to a bigger office in the city of Decatur, in an expansion it says will create 150 jobs in the state. The expansion will ultimately bring the EVE Online developer's total U.S. staff to 300 people by 2013, CCP said. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal said CCP's work in the state exemplifies its "competitive set of resources" for developers who set up shop there. "It is also encouraging to see an existing Georgia company expand and take full advantage of our state’s progressive business atmosphere, and enhance its commitment to Georgia," says Governor Deal. CCP is best known for its galactic MMO, but it also has two further projects, World of Darkness and Dust 514, in development. The company says the North American office is tasked to "support the needs of its growing company and suite of products." "Georgia’s financial climate combined with Decatur’s social climate provide the ideal conditions for continued growth," adds CCP president Mike Tinney. Georgia hosts over 75 digital entertainment companies, and says that more than 15 of the state's colleges and universities offer a full industry-related curriculum or courses in game development.
