Iceland-based CCP Games (EVE Online), has expanded its operations in the U.S. with the unveiling of a North American headquarters in Stone Mountain, GA. CCP will celebrate the new office's official opening on October 12, 2007. Last year, the company merged with U.S. pen-and-paper RPG company White Wolf, and views the opening of a U.S. operations base as an expansion on an existing presence in the States. CCP notes that 40 percent of EVE Online's 190,000 players are located in the U.S. According to the company, CCP North America plans to hire more than 100 new employees for MMO game development and design positions at its Stone Mountain, GA office over the next 12 months. The company will be on hand to speak with interested parties at the first Southern Interactive Entertainment and Gaming Expo (SIEGE), to be held October 5 – 7, 2007 at Atlanta’s Crowne Plaza Perimeter NW Hotel with the aim of strengthening the Georgia-based gaming community. “CCP Games is excited to be at the epicenter of the US online gaming industry,” said Mike Tinney, president of CCP North America. “Following the merger of CCP Games and White Wolf Publishing last year, we look forward to expanding our CCP North American team and player base over the course of this year.”
