Officials from Codemasters have announced that further development of Dragon Empires has been cancelled. “Technical issues” are being cited as the reason for the game’s cancellation, although no elaboration has been made regarding exactly what these issues might be. The development team will be moved to other internal project, and the company is insisting that this will not impact on their long term ambitions to break into the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) market. This is the latest in a long string of MMORPGs to be cancelled in recent months, with titles such as Warhammer Online, True Fantasy Live Online, Mythica and Ultima X: Odyssey all suffering a similar fate.
