Colleagues and friends have set up a memorial trust to honor the memory of Relic Entertainment's Company of Heroes lead designer Brian Wood, who was tragically killed in a car accident late last week. The Brian Wood Memorial Trust is currently accepting donations in person at North Shore Credit Union locations in British Columbia, by mail and through Paypal. Proceeds from the newly set up trust will help support Wood's widow Erin and her unborn baby through this difficult time. Wood was killed last Friday night when his Subaru Outback was struck by a Chevy Blazer that swerved across the center line. The crash is currently under investigation by police. Erin Wood, who is seven-months pregnant and suffered minor injuries in the crash, told British Columbia paper The Province that Brian swerved his car at the moment before the accident so that his driver's side would take the brunt of the impact. "In his final act he did the only thing that would save us," she said. "He was always sacrificing himself for me and the baby." Wood had most recently been working on Company of Heroes Online, which entered public beta earlier this month.
