A memorial fund has been established to support the family of game industry artist Don Barnes, who was tragically killed while intervening in an argument outside his apartment last month. As of this writing, The Barnes Family Fund, set up by Barnes' last employer Broodworks, has already raised over $2,500 for the continued support of Barnes' two children, aged 17 and 8. Barnes is credited with creating art for games including titles in Electronic Arts' Madden NFL series and the recent Call of Duty: Black Ops from Activision. Recent positions also included lead character artist on Activision's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Kung Fu Panda. "Don was one of the greatest friends and artists anyone could ever know," writes commenter Joe Vance on the Fund's guestbook. "I am thrilled I got to work alongside him for 15 years and honored he considered me his friend."
