Ottawa-based Corel has announced the latest iteration of its Corel Painter 'Natural-Media' painting and illustration software is now available for pre-order, and will be officially released this October. Corel Painter IX is described by its creators as "highly-sophisticated painting and illustration application designed to capture the intricate nuances of traditional art tools while taking advantage of the incredible power of digital media." New features for this latest iteration of the tool, which ships with both Mac and Windows versions on the same CD, include improved speed, new customizable shortcut keys, improved digital watercolor, and enhanced Adobe Photoshop support.
