Crave Games announced today that they would be publishing a game based on a variety of Cartoon Network properties as "one of the first games for the Nintendo 3DS." The untitled project, currently under development by Papaya Studios and to be co-developed by Crave, will include playable characters from Cartoon Network shows include Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, The PowerPuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Codename: Kids Next Door, Chowder, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, according to the announcement. The 3DS version of the game is being targeted for release Spring 2011 release, putting it shortly after the planned March 2011 U.S. release of the 3DS itself. Versions of the title will also be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS3 during the 2011 holiday season, according to the announcement. "We are delighted to partner with Cartoon Network and their iconic library of characters to deliver a high-energy gaming experience to their loyal fanbase," said Betsi Gijanto, Executive Vice President, Crave Games. "Partnering with Cartoon Network is an important growth initiative for us." Papaya previously developed the D3-published Vilgax Attacks, a game based on the Ben 10 Ultimate Alien franchise for the Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and PS2. Crave Entertainment was acquired by online sales company Fillpoint LLC last year. The budget publisher is perhaps best know recently for its Pinball Hall of Fame series of virtual recreations and also publishes games based on licenses including Man Vs. Wild, Deadliest Catch and Brunswick bowling products.
