Officials from Japanese budget publisher D3 Publisher have announced that the company will open a new subsidiary in California, on November 1, 2004. The new subsidiary will initially employ five people. The company plans to bring its line of budget-priced titles to the United States, which have sold over 13.6 million copies in Japan so far. The Simple 1500 and Simple 2000 series of PSone and PlayStation 2 titles are generally originally developed titles with a limited lifespan, but relatively high production values. The company acquired Japanese publisher ESP in August of this year and seems intent on increasing its market share in both its home market and abroad.
