Data from tracking firm Media Create on Friday revealed that both the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP were the only pieces of hardware to cross the million mark in Japan year-to-date through June. The DS sales figure includes includes three models: the DSi LL, DSi and DS Lite. PSP sales include two models, the PSP and PSP Go. Below are Media Create's year-to-date hardware sales figures through June, according to CVG: 1. DS - 1,180,325 2. PSP - 1,101,666 3. Wii - 818,945 4. PS3 - 756,325 5. Xbox 360 - 105,969 6. PS2 - 45,372 Media Create said that for the week ended July 4, Xbox 360 sold 7,303 -- better than average, but less than the prior week's total of 17,370. Capcom released the MMORPG Monster Hunter Frontier Online during the prior week, driving hardware sales, with the title selling over 90,000 units to top all other games in its debut week. Nintendo's DS line of hardware also saw a decline for the most recent week, following a sales spike brought on by DSi price cuts. The DS line -- including the DSi LL, DSi and DS Lite -- sold 56,271 units during the week. That's down from 64,191 the previous week. On the all-platforms charts, Sony's PSP handheld came in second after the DS with 25,709 units sold. The older UMD-based PSP sold 24,685 units while the newer disc drive-less PSP Go sold 1,024 Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended July 4, 2010.
