Representatives from Electronic Arts have announced a new follow-up to Wii and Nintendo DS title MySims, in the form of MySims Kingdom. Also a Wii and Nintendo DS exclusive, the new game will be more story led than previously, as users attempt to revitalize the fantasy kingdom of King Roland. The game is due to launch globally in autumn of this year, following the successful release of MySims in September 2007. So far the spin-off franchise from the core The Sims brand has sold 2.8 million copies worldwide, across both formats. Sims Label studio head Rod Humble said players will “make the MySims world a better place by completing rewarding quests, building houses, bridges or even making contraptions powered by electricity or water. And MySims Kingdom on Nintendo DS adds many new activities such as kayaking, ski jumping, populating the town zoo and many others.” Concluded Humble, “MySims has been met with such enthusiasm by players and families everywhere, we are excited to make MySims its own franchise within The Sims label.”
