Today's Gamasutra educational feature, part of the expanded Gamasutra Education section of the website, examines a 'Day in the Life' of Brown College Game Design major Dave Huston, directly combating the Socratic notion that an unexamined life is not worth living. The following extract is from Huston's introduction: "My name is Dave Huston and I am a Game Design student at Brown College in Mendota Heights, MN. I’m finishing up my second year of the course with one more to go afterwards to attain my bachelor’s degree. My class began with 26 students. Many of those that enroll don’t understand the level of difficulty and the amount of work that goes into producing a game. So far, our courses have taught us how to take a concept and flesh it out into a full design document, how to build photorealistic 3d models and animate them, how A.I. works, how to program in C++, and the basics of drawing. As of this quarter, we have six students remaining, including myself. What follows is an account of the first day back from a one week break between my seventh and eighth quarters."
