Video game industry analysis and information aggregation company EEDAR is launching a new division focused on providing game publishers with insights on the video game press that covers new game releases. The newly announced Editorial Insights Division, helmed by five-year IGN veteran Erik Brudvig, promises to provide mock reviews, review score forecasts, analyses of editorial outlet bias and other services designed to aid a publisher's public relations and editorial planning. A listing on EEDAR's website suggests that pricing for a DesignMetrics report that includes many of these editorial-focused products starts at $5,000. "I've spent a large portion of my career educating and communicating to the consumer on upcoming and released video games," Brudvig said in a statement. "This is a unique opportunity to provide the video game industry with exciting new ways to prepare for their editorial based marketing and promotion strategies." The division, which EEDAR says has been in development since 2008, will expand to a public launch in February after a pilot program with select clients in 2010. In an October keynote speech, EEDAR president and CEO Greg Short claimed the company provides services for "over 85 percent of the top 20 publishers."
