Speaking to The Times Online website Eidos CEO Mike McGarvey has stated that the company currently has no plans to release any further games on Nintendo’s GameCube console. McGarvey is quoted as saying, “The GameCube is a declining business”. These comments are no doubt related to the news that Eidos will not be publishing Free Radical’s TimeSplitters 3, allegedly because of a disagreement over royalties. The GameCube version of TimeSplitters 2 was the best selling of all three consoles (probably because of Free Radical’s connection to Rare’s legendary GoldenEye 007) and has been the only significant GameCube release for the company.
