Eidos Montreal on Tuesday confirmed that retail date listings for its upcoming game Deus Ex: Human Revolution are correct: The game arrives August 23 in the U.S. and August 26 in the UK.
Eidos Montreal's upcoming first-person adventure game Deus Ex: Human Revolution now has official launch dates, the studio confirmed Tuesday on its Twitter account. In the U.S., the game will launch on August 23, 2011, while in the UK, the title releases on August 26. The confirmation came as U.S.-based retailer GameStop and UK's Game listed release dates for the anticipated game on their respective websites. The release date confirmation comes after Tokyo-headquartered Eidos parent Square Enix announced it would delay Deus Ex: Human Revolution from the January-March quarter to sometime after, causing the game to miss the publisher's previous fiscal year. Square Enix said it would use that time to "further polish" the game. The publisher in 2009 announced it would buy UK-based publisher Eidos in a bid to gain a better foothold in Western territories. Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be the third entry in the Deus Ex series, which debuted in 2000. The original game and the 2003 follow-up were developed by Ion Storm.
