Elkware Opens Los Angeles Office, Moves Personnel

German-headquartered mobile game specialist Elkware has announced the moving of its U.S. office from New York to Los Angeles, and the appointment of Domenica Dinkheller as Vice President for the Americas. The move, accomplished so Elkware could better leverage West Coast-based 'contacts from the film and video games business', is one of many, of recent, from mobile game companies expanding in the United States. Firms, some with venture capital funding, are competing for the growing cellphone gaming market, and a recent Ziff Davis survey revealed nearly 70% of video gamers in the U.S. own a cell phone, and 50% of these individuals play games on their mobile devices.
