Representatives from British game trade organization ELSPA (Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association) have announced that the 2006 ELSPA Year Book will be launched next week at the E3 expo, helping to promote the UK video game industry, as the government and trade groups attempt to raise the profile of British video game creators. The booklet is part of a new initiative by ELSPA, together with TIGA (The Independent Game Developers Association) and the British Department for Trade & Industry (DTI) to promote the British games industry as a whole, under the “Powered by the UK” tagline. The schemes aims to highlight the creative talent within the country and its place in the world market. The booklet will include new information on the computer and video games industry in the United Kingdom for 2005, including comments from Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) minister James Purnell and other key industry figures. The publication will be available free of charge at the UK pavilion (stand 2228 – West Hall) at the E3 expo in the Los Angeles Convention Centre.
