First ever Role Playing Game developed for Apple Watch

The game is called Cosmos Ring – Developed by Square Enix, the creators of Final Fantasy video game series.

According to a teaser website launched by Square Enix, the game is solely designed for Apple Watch. It may not be compatible for other Android ‘smartwatches’ available in the market.

We will have to wait to see what form of game it is. The teaser website does not disclose any specifications but only a small image saying coming soon. The date of launch is also not committed. But looking at the declining popularity of Apple Watch one year later the inevitable sequel should be here within next few months.

I have used the Apple Watch for the last year and it is one of my favorite gadgets. It can do a lot of things for me that I like.

It is like a dream – a little world on my wrist. I have it thump me to notify me of emails, messages and appointments; it navigates me through the streets, it tracks my fitness routine, I look at it for the weather, I can ping through it to find out where my iPhone is and a lot more. Precisely, I am always connected.

But, are these not the reasons why we buy a mobile phone in the first place? Yes of-course! Phone has a bigger screen, more function keys, user friendly navigation, more RAM, more space, more features, more apps. We are not only notified about important stuff by our mobile phones, but actually it lets us attend to these notifications at a greater extent and more conveniently.

The reason than to wear an Apple Watch is another security blanket. The Apple Watch and the iPhone act as a pair. Keeping the phone in drawer, I still am connected to the world.

The best part is that I can come here as a minimalist. My Apple Watch looks and feels natural.

Do you really need the Apple Watch?

In short I would say NO. NOT YET

Wait for the upgraded sequel.

Ever since I got my Apple Watch in May 2015, three things have changed. First – that Apple has been releasing software updates from time to time; Second – many other companies have launched competing devices (smartwatches and fitness trackers) and Finally – Apple dropped the price.

And now, Apple is on the verge of adding a Role Playing Game along with more system upgrades.

With these expected changes in mind, I would suggest you should wait to see what Apple has to offer next. The initial version of the gadget appears more of a toy than a tool.

This opinion can change. If Apple surprises us with innovative ideas like always.

Waiting for Apple Watch 2

If Apple releases the Apple Watch sequel, it would probably come alongside iPhone 7 which is due to hit the markets in September this year.

The upgraded version of the Apple Watch might be smaller. It might also have more RAM for improved speed, more resistance to water, better battery life, and possibly it works without iPhone. There are a lot features that the Apple Watch could be better at.

Over a year since the first launch, the top annoyances of Apple Watch are basically the same as they were on its first day. For example: very short battery life, it needs an iPhone, most apps run slowly, interface is not user friendly, lacks built in GPS and most models are overpriced.

There is no indication on what to expect from the upgrade apart from the RPG “Cosmos Ring” as per the teaser website. Whether it will have other new innovative games like, Game of Thrones online casino slot game, and Pokemon Go or it will just be a slight upgrade.

We hope it’ll at least address to the deficiencies in the first version and perform better.

Pebble and Fitbit's Blaze are less expensive smartwatches that are easier to check for messages. Pebble is also fully waterproof for swimming. Google’s Android smartwatchs work best on all Android phones, but can also be used for basic functions with an iPhone.

If, at this time you are willing to spend up to $300 on a watch, you should probably just wait and see what Apple brings in the sequel. The current version is not good enough to be a must-have. And for that reason, the whole idea of a smartwatch is something that everyone should appreciate. It could be fun to have one if it comes packed with games or other entertainment features.
