Angela Hession, once the head of trust and safety for Xbox, has joined the team at Twitch to head up the streaming giant's own VP of trust and safety.

Twitch calls the hire an extension of its own efforts to bolster its internal trust and safety forces, with Hession's hiring following a string of motions from the company to double its safety operations team and introduce new safety-focused policies and features.

"Twitch has an incredibly dynamic, diverse and engaged community, and I’m excited to join the team to lead trust and safety with and for our community," reads a statement from Hession.

"As live streaming continues to grow and connect people across the world, we have an opportunity to work together to make Twitch a safer and more inclusive space where everyone can enjoy and participate in live entertainment.”

According to Variety, Hession's twenty years at Microsoft saw her overseeing such projects as Xbox's Project Artemis which sought to detect online predators seeking to exploit children online as well as the Microsoft Safety virtual team behind its Safer World Faster initiative.
