Organizers for Lyon, France-based trade show Game Connection Europe revealed 20 indie nominations for its "Selected Projects" competition -- now nominees have to prepare to present their projects to game publishers and distributors. Games that are in the running for Game Connection Europe's "Best Video Games Project" of 2011 include Neko Entertainment's Puddle, int13's Kweekies, GGC's Guns, Gore & Cannoli and Anino Games' Fortune Seekers. Three of the 20 games will be selected as "Best Project." "Every single nominee will have the same time-slot at Game Connection Europe: Five minutes top to pitch and demo its game," said Game Connection managing director Pierre Carde. "They'll be presented to key publishers and distributors who will vote for them." A panel of experts reviewed the submissions, which opened in October, weighing in on innovation, creativity, concept, design, gameplay and "financial viability." The competition's official website said that competitors' entries must be "Original, different and innovative (gameplay, business model, etc.)"; Unsigned by a publishing or distribution partner; Available for press promotion; Have a two- to four-minute video to be used for the pitch; and a working demo. Game Connection Europe takes place November 15-18 this year. The full list of Selected Projects nominees is below:
