TECHNOCONWAY

A two-player game based on Conway's Game of Life, with emergent aspects of techno music.

In a computer game environment, two players face each other across a gridded field. Each must deploy game-of-life movers, either by selecting grid points or selecting from a menu of pre-defined movers; players may save and deploy new movers against each other. Additional movers may be added to your repertoire by searching online sites where people have provided them, so that the community adds additional possibilities over time.

Points are scored for each mover that transits the game space and penetrates the opponent's boundary.

Movers may destroy each other within the play space through the normal rules for grid population via Conway's Game of Life.

The game is real-time, and unpausable with a winning score agreed to before game start.

A programmatic system translates grid point population into electronic tones, so that audio reflects the changing grid space over time; there is no guarantee that this translates into pleasing music, although it may.
