GameFly Charts Headlined By Spiderman 3, 360

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending April 20, highlight both to-be-released and already released games in a unique demand-specific chart. Once more it was Activision's upcoming video game adaptation of Spiderman 3 on top of the all platform chart for the week, with Electronic Arts' upcoming Xbox 360 port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, expected to ship this May, as the second most requested game for the week. While Nintendo's recently shipped Super Paper Mario ranked last week as the third top requested title among GameFly subscribers, the Wii exclusive was replaced this week by the upcoming Xbox 360 action RPG Mass Effect. What follows is a break down of the top titles requested by GameFly subscribers across each of the major platforms: Nintendo Wii 1. Super Paper Mario (Nintendo), 2. Cooking Mama: Cook Off (Majesco), 3. Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (Midway), 4. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Ubisoft) 5. Spiderman 3 (Activision) Not many surprises this week in terms of Wii requests, with Super Paper Mario again topping all other requests for the platform. The one new entry to the top five for the week came from Midway with the forthcoming motion-enhanced port of its 3D fighter Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, which ranked third among Wii requests for the week. As expected, it was again Activision's Spiderman 3 that remained on top of the Xbox 360 chart for the week, followed by EA's port of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Fan anticipation for Microsoft's upcoming Mass Effect helped move that title into third for the week, knocking Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 into fifth. PlayStation 3 1. F.E.A.R. Just as was the case last week, the latest port of Vivendi's F.E.A.R. was found to be the most requested PlayStation 3 title for the week, while Sony's Motorstorm climbed up from last week's sixth position to claim the fourth spot for the week. PlayStation 2 1. Spiderman 3 (Activision), 2. God of War II (Sony), 3. Medal of Honor: Vanguard (Electronic Arts), 4. TMNT (Ubisoft), 5. Bully (Take Two). Marking what could be considered an end of an era for GameFly subscribers, Sony's God of War II was finally knocked from the top position among PlayStation 2 requests after holding the top position since its release, yielding this week to Activision's Spiderman 3. Xbox 1. Scarface: The World Is Yours (Vivendi), 2. Ninja Gaiden Black (Tecmo), 3. Halo 2 (Microsoft), 4. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Activision) 5. Family Guy - Video Game! (Take Two). Vivendi's Scarface again topped all Xbox requests for the week, followed by Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden Black, which climbed up from last weeks fifth position to take second for the week. Interestingly, Microsoft's Halo 2 fell again this week to the third position, while the top fve were again capped off by Take Two's Family Guy - Video Game!. GameCube 1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), 2. Mario Party 7 (Nintendo), 3. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo), 4. TMNT (Ubisoft), 5. Super Smash Bros. Melee (Nintendo). Titles published by Nintendo again dominated the GameCube chart this week, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess once more ranking above all other requests for the platform. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door fell one spot from last week to take the third position, while Mario Party 7 took its spot in second. Nintendo DS 1. Pokemon Diamond (Nintendo), 2. Pokemon Pearl (Nintendo), 3. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (D3P), 4. Diddy Kong Racing DS (Nintendo), 5. Naruto: Ninja Council 3 (D3P). The Nintendo DS chart remained dominated by the overpowering duo that is Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, both of which were released this week. D3P's unique Puzzle Quest still was a popular choice among GameFly subscribers, while another D3P release, Naruto: Ninja Council 3 ranked fifth for the week. Game Boy Advance 1. Pokemon Emerald (Nintendo), 2. Final Fantasy VI Advance (Nintendo), 3. Pokemon Fire Red (Nintendo), 4. Pokemon: Ruby (Nintendo), 5. Pokemon Leaf Green (Nintendo). It's an all Pokemon party this week for the Game Boy Advance, with Pokemon releases accounting for four of the five spots on the handheld's chart. Pokemon Emerald took the top spot for the week, while the second spot belonged to the one nonPokemon title in the top five, namely Square Enix's Final Fantasy VI Advance. PlayStation Portable 1. 300: March to Glory (Eidos), 2. Valhalla Knights (Xseed Games) 3. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Sony), 4. Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (Ubisoft), 5. Full Auto 2: Battlelines (Sega). Finally, PSP requests were once again topped by Eidos' movie adaptation of 300, a game that has continued to dominate the portable's chart for the last several weeks in a row. Xseed's recently shipped RPG Valhalla Knights took the second spot for the week, while Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: Rival Swords fell off from the position to take fourth for the week.
