GameFly Charts Topped By LEGO Star Wars II

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending September 15, highlights the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. While last week highlighted the growing popularity of LucasArts' multiplatform LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, requests for the game continued, pushing the title to the top of the cross platform chart to become the most requested game across all consoles. The move knocked previous weeks' top title, THQ's GTA-inspired Saints Row, down into the number two spot, while yet another version of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy also was found as the third most requested game on the chart. Interestingly, GameFly was unspecific as to which versions of LEGO Star Wars II made up the chart's top three. LEGO Star Wars II also dominated Xbox 360 specific requests for the week, while Saints Row and Atari's Eden-developed Test Drive Unlimited ranked as the second and third most requested titles for the next-gen platform. Looking to the original Xbox, requests were also topped by LEGO Star Wars II, with Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 07 and Midway's Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, which stars wresting and film personality Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, rounding out the console's top three requests. Predictably, LEGO Star Wars II ranked on top of the PlayStation 2 chart for the week, followed by Capcom's stylish action title, Okami. Sega's free-roaming action title, Yakuza, which was scripted by noted Japanese novelist Hase Seishu, capped off the top three requests for Sony's home console. Like clockwork, LucasArts' popular LEGO Star Wars II was the most requested GameCube release for the week. As was the case last week, D3P's anime fighting game Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 was the second most requested title for the platform for the week, followed by Namco and Nintendo's upcoming role-playing game, Baten Kaitos: Origins. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was the most requested Game Boy Advance title for the week, followed by Pokemon Emerald. LEGO Star Wars II remained as the tird most requested title for the platform for the second straight week. Looking to the Nintendo DS, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team topped requests for the handheld, followed by Nintendo's Mario Hoops 3 on 3 and Majesco's strategy simulation, Cooking Mama. PSP requests were topped by LEGO Star Wars II, which pushed last week's top request, Sony's recently shipped platfromer LocoRoco, into the second spot for the week. Majesco's portable fighting game, Guilty Gear: Judgement, was the third most requested PSP release on the chart. Looking to the fourth quarter release of the PlayStation 3, GameFly requests for the platform again highlighted Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed as the most popular release for the upcoming console, followed by Sony's Resistance: Fall of Man and Activision's Call of Duty 3. Similarly, requests for titles for the Wii, which will ship on November 19, were topped by The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, followed by Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy.
