GameFly Rental Chart Highlights: Week Ending April 10

This week's GameFly video game rental charts for North America, specifically relating to games rented via the games-by-mail service for the week ending April 10th, show popularity over multiple game formats. Square-Enix's popular action RPG Kingdom Hearts II for the PlayStation 2 continued to to hold onto the top spot this week across all platforms, followed by Ubisoft's Far Cry Instincts: Predator and Take-Two's Top Spin 2, both for the Xbox 360. The week also saw Xbox 360 titles Blazing Angels and Oblivion, last week's number two and three overall rentals, plummet to the number eight and ten spots respectively on the all-format chart. Looking to the Xbox 360, Ubisoft proved to be the one to beat with their recently released Far Cry Instincts: Predator climbed two spots to take the top spot, while Take-Two's Top Spin 2 gave gamers tennis elbow with the number two most popular rental for the next-generation platform. Ubisoft's military shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter proved it has staying power by sneaking back into the top three a full month after its release. Electronic Arts' The Godfather: The Game fell one spot to number two for weekly Xbox rentals, and was replaced by another EA title, Black. Take-Two's recently shipped Major League Baseball 2K6 rounded out the top three for Microsoft's console. Unsurprisingly, PlayStation 2 gamers continued to support Kingdom Hearts II, as the collaboration between Disney and Square Enix remained at the top spot for the platform. The action RPG was followed by Electronic Art's The Godfather: The Game and Black for the second and third most rented PlayStation 2 titles for the week. D3P's Naruto: Clash of Ninja remained the top rented GameCube title for the third week in a row, followed closely by Natsume's farming strategy Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, and Vivendi Universal's movie tie-in Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. On the Game Boy Advance, Naruto: Ninja Council fell to the number two spot in favor of Square Enix's card-based action RPG Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Konami banked on the popularity of card battling as well with Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Academy, and the game takes the number three spot, sending Namco's Tales of Phantasia down seven spots from last week to number ten. Nintendo DS rentals remained more or less constant this week, with Metroid Prime: Hunters once again sitting atop the list. Nintendo's Wi-Fi enabled Tetris DS climbed one spot to take the number two position, while Super Princess Peach fell down the blocks one spot to land in third. On Sony's PSP, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories climbed to the top once again, knocking last week's top rental, Daxter, down to number two. Sony Online Entertainment's recently released action RPG, Untold Legends: The Warrior's Code, took the third spot for the week.
