GameFly U.S. Game Chart Highlights: Week Ending May 1

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending May 1, now highlights the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. The change in ranking represents a shift for the major online video game rental company, which previously ranked its charts based purely on the number of physical rentals, but now provides data on what its members have in their to-be-rented queues. Across all platforms, the overall most requested game for the week was Agent 47's upcoming Hitman: Blood Money, currently scheduled to sneak up on retail shelves on May 30 for the Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PC with piano wire in hand. Sexy spelunker Lara Croft proved to be the second most popular request on the all format chart with Tomb Raider: Legend, followed by Nintendo's highly anticipated revisit to the classic 2D gameplay that made the company a household name with New Super Mario Bros. The latest entry in Namco's long running aerial combat series was the most popular PlayStation 2 request for the week with Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War. Square Enix's partnership with Disney for Kingdom Hearts II continued its successful run with the game ranking as the second most popular request for the platform, followed by the ever popular Tomb Raider: Legend. Midway's recent retake on its venerable Rampage franchise ranked at the top GameCube request for the week with Rampage: Total Destruction, followed by the latest entry in the popular anime fighting game series, Naruto: Clash of Ninja. The top three was rounded out by Natsume's popular farming sim, Harvest Moon: Magical Melody. Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories remained as the top requested Game Boy Advance title for the week, followed by yet another Square Enix release in Final Fantasy IV. D3P's action adventure title Naruto: Ninja Council took the third spot. Unsurprisingly, Nintendo's upcoming New Super Mario Bros. was the most popular DS request for the week. The unconventional Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! was the second most requested DS release, followed by Ubisoft's recently shipped RPG, Lost Magic. For Sony's PSP, Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming strategy title Field Commander was the most popular request, as players continue to wait for its May 22 release. SCEA's Daxter took the second spot, followed by Gabe Logan's latest adventure in Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.
