GameFly U.S. Rental Wants Topped By Cerberus

This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending July 28, highlights the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. For the first time in many weeks, the all-platform chart saw a title for a platform other than the Xbox 360 on top. This week Square Enix's upcoming PlayStation 2 Vincent Valentine side story, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus climbed on top of the chart, followed by last week's number one title, Capcom's upcoming zombie-themed action romp Dead Rising for the Xbox 360. The top three on the chart covering all platforms was rounded out by THQ's Xbox 360 action title, Saint's Row. Requests for titles for the Xbox 360 were topped by Dead Rising and Saint's Row, while Microsoft's upcoming action RPG N3: Ninety-Nine Nights, which recently saw a demo released over the Xbox Live Marketplace, ranked third on the chart. Electronic Arts' NCAA Football 07 once again ranked as the most requested Xbox title for the week, followed by Atari's recently shipped multiplayer-focused Warpath and DreamCatcher Interactive's console port of its first-person shooter Painkiller, subtitled Hell Wars. As expected, Dirge of Cerberus ranked on top of the PlayStation 2 chart for the week, while the second and third spots were once again occupied by a pair of anime-themed titled with Atari's recently shipped Super Dragon Ball Z and Namco Bandai's 3D fighting game Naruto: Ultimate Ninja. THQ's Monster House again ranked on top of the GameCube chart for the week, followed by Barnyard, another THQ release, and Nintendo's Next Level Games-developed Super Mario Strikers. Nintendo's Pokemon Emerald topped the Game Boy Advance chart for the week, followed by Atari's action adventure title, Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure. THQ's Monster House rounded out the top three requests for the handheld. Concerning the Nintendo DS, the chart was dominated by titles published by Nintendo itself, with Star Fox: Command as the most requested title for the week. The upcoming release was followed by New Super Mario Bros. and the Touch Generations-branded casual game, Big Brain Academy. Namco Bandai's recently shipped Tekken: Dark Resurrection was the most requested title for the PSP for the week, while Square Enix's role-playing epic, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, occupied the second spot on the chart. Vivendi's movie tie-in, Miami Vice – the Game, rounded out the top three requests for Sony's portable for the week.
