This week's top rental charts from U.S. game rental company GameFly, representing the most requested games for the week ending September 22, highlights the popularity surrounding video game titles that have been already released, as well as those that are yet to debut. After a week of dominating the charts more or less all around, it seems as if excitement for LucasArts' multiplatform LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy has waned in the wake of other notable releases from Capcom and Electronic Arts. EA's Xbox 360 port of The Godfather: The Game was the most requested title across all platforms for the week, followed by Capcom's PlayStation 2 action title, Okami. LEGO Star Wars II still proved popular, however, residing as the third most requested game across all consoles for the week. While The Godfather: The Game was the most requested Xbox 360 release for the week, it was LEGO Star Wars II and THQ's Saints Row that filled out the top three spots on the console's chart. Interestingly, last week's second most requested Xbox 360 title, Atari's Eden-developed Test Drive Unlimited fell of dramatically, ranking just seventh in terms of the Xbox 360 requests for the week. Looking to the original Xbox, requests remained topped by LEGO Star Wars II, with Electronic Arts' NBA Live 07 and Eidos' Justice League Heroes rounding out the top three. PlayStation 2 requests, on the other hand, were topped by Okami, followed by LEGO Star Wars II and Sega's free-roaming action title Yakuza. D3P's Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 was the most asked for GameCube title for the week, though again it was LEGO Star Wars II that took the second spot, proving its ongoing popularity. Namco's One Piece: Pirates Carnival was the third most requested GameCube title for the period. Turning to the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo's Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was the most requested title for the week, followed by LEGO Star Wars II and another Pokemon title, Pokemon Emerald. First party releases dominated the Nintendo DS chart for the week, with 'rougelike' Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team taking top honors. The recently shipped Mario Hoops 3 on 3 was the second most requested title for the week on the handheld, followed by Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. PSP requests were again this week topped by LEGO Star Wars II, followed by EA's The Godfather: Mob Wars. Sony's stylish platform LocoRoco rounded out the top three requests for the PSP. Looking ahead to the November launch of the PlayStation 3, GameFly requests reflected a slight shift in interest concerning titles for the platform. While previous weeks had seen Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed in the top spot, this most recent chart saw the action title taking a back seat to Sony's Heavenly Sword, which ranked as the second most requested PS3 title for the week, as well as the chart's most popular PS3 title, Resistance: Fall of Man. Wii requests also saw changes. While The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess remained the most requested Wii title for the week, Unisoft's Red Steel climbed into the second position, knocking Super Smash Bros. Brawl into the third spot on the chart.
