Out of 47 iPhone and iPad games that Gameloft launched since the beginning of 2010 (18 iPhone games and 29 iPad games), 42 of those titles made it to the top five best-selling games on the App Store's top-grossing apps chart, Gameloft said. Twenty-five of those games reached number one this year. According to Gameloft, the company's most recent top performers included the Halo-like shooter NOVA and the Hot Shots Golf-inspired Let's Golf! 2 for iPhone and Let's Golf! HD for iPad. Other notable performers include Iron Man 2 and Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front. In a statement, Gameloft president Michel Guillemot said, "Twenty million paid downloads is proof that our games meet the expectations of our players and we will continue to satisfy them." With the launches this year of the iPad and iPhone 4, he said, "The first half of 2010 marks a new step for us on the App Store." In total, Gameloft said it has developed and published 100 games for Apple devices since the App Store's launch. The company plans on releasing 15 other titles onto the App Store by the end of the year. In August this year, Gameloft reported an 11 percent year-on-year increase in first-half 2010 sales. For the six-month period ended June 30, the company reported sales of 66.6 million euros ($84.34 million), up from 60.1 million euros ($76.25 million) in the first half of 2009. Revenue for the App Store specifically rose 82 percent during the period. Gameloft attributed its growth to the continuing popularity of its games for Apple's iPhone, where it has consistently placed in the Top 10 for revenue alongside Electronic Arts thanks to its high-budget 3D games.
