Representatives from Singapore Conference and Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) have announced further details on a new collaboration with the organizers of the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany to create the Games Convention Asia 2007 event. The event will take place from September 6th to 9th, 2007, at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The convention has been organized into two main areas, one for business attendees and the other for public access. The latter will include organized tournament and competitions, as well as specific catering for young children and families. The convention is supported by various local government agencies and other regional organizations including iPark Singapore from Korea, China Game Publishers Association, Vietnam Software Association, The Indonesian Animation & Content Industry Association, Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association and Taipei Computer Association. Other companies and organizations speaking out in favor of the event include IGDA (International Game Developers Association), Microsoft, Activate Interactive, Electronic Arts, Asiasoft Online, 10tacle Studios and Nokia. Aloysius Arlando of the Singapore Tourism Board commented, "The SECB is proud to support GCA 2007, an inaugural event that will be held annually in Singapore. The GCA 2007 exemplifies the successful Singapore Inc partnership between government agencies and associations in developing and growing a strong ecosystem of digital media related events in Singapore."
