Representatives from the research collective The Games for Health Project have released the initial batch of presentations/proceedings from the recent Games for Health Annual Conference. The two-day event took place on September 28 and 29 at the Medical School Teaching Facility in Baltimore, MD. Games for Health offered a forum dedicated to the exchange of best practices in serious games for health and health care applications, and drew a considerable gathering of healthcare professionals, game developers, government program managers, policy advocates, educators, and researchers. Among the available presentations are a look at the popular virtual world Second Life, an overview of the making of the serious game Re-Mission, and a look at simulation-based triage training. Others include a presentation titled “Aids Education with Games”, and another titled “Biofeedback for Therapy and Training.” Currently there are twelve separate presentations available for download from the official Games for Health website. In addition, the site promises that more will be made available in the next couple of weeks, while a video from the conference will be released later this year.
