Gateway officials have announced that the company will release a PC designed specifically to play video games. The 700X Gaming PC will include the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra from Nividia and will be bundled with a number of free EA games, including Battlefield 1942 and Madden NFL 2004. The new PC will also be composed of a 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 processor, 512 MB of memory, a 160GB hard drive, a DVD burner and a 19 inch monitor A lower-specced machine, labeled the 500S will also accompany the launch with the 700X selling for $2,099 and the 500S for $1,149. Shares in all three companies involved have risen sharply as a result of the announcement with EA’s hitting an all time high on Nasdaq.
