Canadian publisher Groove Games (Pariah, Playboy: The Mansion) has announced the creation of Bedlam, a new "flagship" studio dedicated to create new games based on original IP. The Toronto-based studio, founded in late 2005 and fully funded and owned by Groove Games, consists of a seasoned group of industry professionals formerly employed by Rockstar, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft. Bedlam staff have previously worked on a diverse range of released games, including “Silent Hill,” “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,” “Manhunt,” and “The Warriors.” The group has additional experience outside of games in the film, television, and graphics industries. The studio promises a firm belief "that the most talented, passionate team will deliver the best possible game to consumers when they are empowered, respected and guided by intelligent design and strategic planning." “At Bedlam, we promote creativity and empower our employees to take daring new strides when designing games,” said Zandro Chan, Director of Game Development at Bedlam. “The growing team brings triple-A development experience to the table, and we look forward to releasing details about our first project shortly.”
