Fitness industry product provider BroadcastVision Entertainment has announced that it will be demonstrating its new interactive exercise system, Dance Exercise Revolution at the Club Industry 2005 fitness trade show at Chicago’s McCormick Place, starting tomorrow. This product will be of particular interest to the video game industry, since Dance Exercise Revolution is simply an industrial strength hardware package for Konami's Dance Dance Revolution, featuring a heavy-duty Cobalt Flux dance platform, alongside a BroadcastVision 23” or 27” LCD screen mounted on a telescopic stand, and a Playstation 2 with locking security enclosure, along with a 1 – 4 year warranties available on the dance platforms. “All the other dance platforms that we’ve seen in the market are designed for home use and they just don’t hold up in fitness center environments. Our partner, Cobalt Flux, has actually driven an SUV over the platforms and they don’t even crack!", commented Kevin Fee, V.P. of marketing for BroadcastVision Entertainment. BroadcastVision is selling this presumably unofficial package to the fitness industry by mentioning that person weighing 150 lbs. can burn about 640 calories in just one hour playing DDR, and this offering comes hot on the heels of a recent official Konami deal with North American fitness chain 24 Hour Fitness which involved vouchers and club use. BroadcastVision's Fee ends by commenting of this product: "The fun and interactivity of Dance Exercise Revolution opens the door for people of all ages that don’t connect with conventional forms of exercise. It also creates an opportunity for membership-based clubs to attract entire families who can work out together. The combination of music, video and competition make Dance Exercise Revolution appealing to many of the couch potatoes of the world."
