Greg Horn, the painter and illustrator best known for his work on Marvel Comics covers, has announced an update on his nascent work illustrating in the video game industry. In a recent ramping-up of his work on games, Horn has completed several promotional and packaging illustrations, including a limited-edition piece for Croteam's multi-platform FPS Serious Sam II. The Serious Sam II painting was created for a limited-edition print available only as a preorder bonus at EB Games and GameStop outlets. All 8,000 prints were personally signed by Horn, a process that caught Horn somewhat by surprise: "When [publisher 2K Games] said 'limited,' I was thinking in comic book terms, like maybe 500 signatures or something ... Luckily, any comic artist worth his salt has developed a nice quick signature for just these occasions." Other game-related work from Horn mentioned has been a print advertisement for NBA Live 06 from EA Sports, showing cover athlete Dwayne Wade as a robot. Horn has also worked on the packaging for the now defunct Hip Games, on hopefully still-to-be-released titles including Ghost Wars and George A. Romero's City of the Dead.
