In-game ad firm IGA Worldwide has announced former THQ Wireless president Tim Walsh has joined the company as its vice president of media acquisition, where he will be in charge of IGA Worldwide’s global interactive entertainment software publishing partnerships. Walsh was most recently the president of THQ Wireless. He joined THQ in 1997 and held several senior management positions there including senior vice president of international publishing. Prior to joining THQ, Walsh held various sales and marketing positions at Accolade, Time Warner and Capitol Records/EMI Music. Walsh also recently accepted a position on the board of directors for mobile games studio Punch Entertainment. In this new role, Walsh will be responsible for accelerating the growth of IGA’s proprietary Radial ad serving network, by increasing the available content for lucrative placement of in-game advertising for the world’s leading brands and agencies. “Tim is a key global player in this industry and a very credible one at that,” said Justin Townsend, CEO of IGA Worldwide. “His knowledge of the publishing industry and talent for building profitable relationships quickly, will undoubtedly accelerate and help consolidate IGA’s position as a world leader of in-game advertising,” he added.
