The International Game Developers Association, in association with Game Developers Conference organizers and Gamasutra parent UBM TechWeb Game Network, will once again award All-Access GDC passes to 25 students who have an interest in a career in game development. The IGDA has presented GDC Student Scholarships since 2001, helping aspiring game developers experience the wide range of talks and networking opportunities that GDC offers every year. GDC 2011 takes place February 28 to March 4 next year. Applicants will be judged by relevance (will the conference help the student reach specific goals?), initiative (how dedicated is the student?), engagement (is the student involved with the game development community?) and communication (has the applicant expressed his or her ideas effectively within the application?). To qualify for a GDC Student Scholarship, students must fill out and submit an application before Thursday, January 6, 2011. Applicants must be full-time students, IGDA members and must be 18 years old as of February 28, 2011. More guidelines are available at the official IGDA website. Purchased onsite and without any early registration discounts, GDC All-Access passes sell for $2,100. All-Access pass holders can attend any session, roundtable or keynote at the conference. GDC Student Scholarship recipients will be announced before January 24.
