The Independent Games Festival (part of the CMP Game Group, as is Gamasutra) has updated its webpage with a listing of all 118 entries into the 2006 Independent Games Festival main competition, currently in the initial stages of being judged, and for which finalists will be announced on December 11. Some of the more well-known titles entered in this year's IGF include Newgrounds' Flash game Dad 'n Me, from two of the personnel behind last year's IGF winner Alien Hominid, Introversion Software's critically acclaimed indie title Darwinia, casual game hit Luxor from MumboJumbo Games, and cult French tactical 2D MMO Dofus, as well as a host of fresh titles looking to reach prominence via the IGF, from streaking simulators to Bible-based games. Also, due to the record amount of entries into the IGF this year, the organizers are looking for additional professional game developers and indie game experts to become IGF judges. [In return for their work, judges receive a discount on passes to GDC 2006 or an Expo Pass to the conference.] If Gamasutra-reading game professionals are interested in judging a small selection of this year's entrants in both the initial and final judging stages, then please contact the IGF Chairman, including a short bio, before October 1st, when judging will commence.
